Wish I could...

Olo!

Yesterday was a bit of a whirlwind but once I got home I managed to whip up this quick card. I grabbed Peek-a-boo Pure Innocence because she is a fast image to color up plus I had this scrap of View Master paper that I thought would be really clever to pair with her and her coordinating sentiment. Yep, I'm not going to lie... it makes me chuckle. :)
More scraps made it out of the scrap bags and the results are nice and bright which I think makes for a cheery 'missing you' type of card. You want to make the recipient smile, right?

I know this is a short post but I've got a couple other things that I really need to get done this morning before I really start my day so I'll wish you all a very happy crafty Thursday.

Wonderful...

Hello!

We got actual goodness beautiful sunshine yesterday. It was soooooo nice! Even better was seeing the wet patches on the road as the snow began to melt for the first time all winter. Now all it has to do is keep up this warming trend and I'll be through with winter before I know it. ;)

And since I was celebrating such a gorgeous day I thought it was only appropriate that my card go all out with some bright and lovely blooms. So I pulled out this Pergamano cutie with her large bouquet and some pretty Pebble papers and got busy. When I first inked her up I was thinking that this card would end up being quite pink but once I found this print I had to take her in a different direction. I like that it is a bit different but still girly and playful.

Well, another day another dollar. I suppose I should get to it. Here's to a wonderful Wednesday everyone. :)

Happy Birthday!

Mornin' friends!

Le sob! Le weep! Le boo hoo! If you hadn't guessed from all that crying and carrying on, yes, I watched my recording of Sunday's episode of Downton. Bawling like a baby doesn't even begin to describe it. And I really shouldn't have watched it right before bed because there is nothing worse than waking up with puffy eyes the next morning. Seriously, how do you explain to people that a television show is the reason you look a mess without them thinking you must be crazy? ;)

Alrighty, since there isn't much I can do about my current appearance I might as well move on to today's card. I altered the new Puppy Love Mae from Some Odd Girl by trimming the puppy out of her hands and replacing it with a present found on the Gifty Gwen stamp set. This created a more generic looking birthday card which is what I was going for. All the papers are scraps and there really isn't much more to this card than that. Not a lot of embellishments and what not... but the bunting pattern was so busy that anything I tried adding just made it look completely cluttered. Sometimes less is more I guess. :)

Ok, lots to do today.
Catch ya on the flip side!

Crazy cool...

Hey, hey, hey!

I was out last night so I didn't get a chance to watch Downton Abbey. I did make sure to record it though so you know I'll be catching up on the latest drama tonight... I can't wait! If you can't get excited for the little things then where is the fun in life? Right? ;)

So I made this card for the Double Take Tuesday challenge over on the TGF blog and it's just in the nick of time. They have a sketch to follow this time around and since I already had her stamped up I thought it would be fun to use the newest addition to the Creeper Crew, Friday Night. The original Friday has been a long time favorite Creeper of mine (it's all that curly hair) so I was excited to see her back in another style. She is looking quite hip and stylish so I wanted to give her some hip and trendy papers to go with. Echo Park's Everyday Eclectic was the first thing that popped to mind and I couldn't resist throwing in a bit of blue sky in the background as well. I love how the card looks like Friday is spending her day chillin' at the boardwalk. I actually paper pieced the hat band, shoes, and belt buckle out of shimmery gold paper and wish that the shine of it was captured better in the photo because it really dresses up the entire card.

Okey dokey, time to scoot. Hope the new week starts off on the right foot for everyone out there. :)

You + me...

Hi guys!

Work was busy again yesterday and I was tired once I got back home. So I didn't get a card made but luckily I had this one already done. There is no stamping what-so-ever instead it was a fun opportunity to put a bunch of die cuts to use. The entire card is an eclectic mix of brands which I always find to be a fun challenge. ;)

Well I can't think of much else to say about this one so I guess I'll just wish you all a good day with loads of crafty time to enjoy. :)

A Fairwee little hello...

Hello again!

We are supposed to get a bunch more snow this weekend and all I'm thinking is, aren't we near the end of winter yet? I'm tired of the cold and want to see some sunshine again. I bet that is my problem more than anything, it's the constant grey and gloom that is has been hanging over us for weeks on end. All I know is that when that groundhog takes a peek in a couple weeks he had better forecast an early spring. ;)

Anywho, my card today was a quickie and the Fairwee stamps are perfect for that. Mia was fast to color up and I purposefully used the same color combo on her hair as my card from yesterday. I wanted to make sure that my newly cleaned E49 was acting right and it was coloring perfectly once again... no more shiny glaze look. I also put another paper pack cover sheet to use by cutting apart the strips and even trimmed out that bird from the title design. I really like how it looks like the bird and Mia are smiling at each other. :)

Well folks, I should go do the whole hair and make up thing. Hope your weekend is fantastic!

Love you...

Good morning!

So I had quite a time making this card yesterday. I decided that it would be a good day to do my January start-to-finish card making videos and at first all was well. I had a request to color up a TGF Cheeky and Rockabilly was eager to get on a Valentine. So coloring the skin went well, then her dress... no problemo. Next I did her hair and while I was coloring nothing looked amiss. But while I was loading the video I could see a 'glaring' problem once I added the darkest brown. My E49 nib was dirty and had done that weird glaze like look that Copics can do when the nib gets coated in the ink inside the cap. While Rockabilly was still good to go for the card the shine of the ink made it hard to see what I was doing in the video... blerg. Then the mail lady came and pulled down the icy driveway to deliver a box of crafty goodies to me. An hour later and a call to the tow company and she was finally back on her way while I was a lot colder and wetter for my efforts at trying to help. I felt so bad for her! After a quick change into warmer clothes it was time to finish the card. Instead of relaxing into the process Oreo decided that he needed to check out what was going on... repeatedly. Oy, I love that cat but I was wishing I had made him go outside for a bit, LOL! Still, I'm loving how it turned out despite all the adventures. ;)
If you are interested in checking out the videos you can find them all on my youtube channel, here.

Now, I'm going to go lay back down for a bit and then see where the day takes me. Enjoy your Friday!

Thankful for you...

Olo!

Sheesh, this week seems to be flying by for some reason. I haven't had much time to stop and catch my breath but I'm hoping to rectify that with a couple of days off today and tomorrow. And considering we are expecting a new snow storm to blow through I think it will be a coupe of cozy days just spent here at home. Which sounds pretty darn good to me. :)

Alrighty, this card was just for the fun of inking up another as yet un-loved stamp. It's a Gorjuss Girl called Poppy Wood that I've actually had for quite some time but never quite got around to before now. At first the plan was to color her dress blue but it was not coming out at all so instead of scrappin' the whole thing I figured it would be easiest to just paper piece it instead. I added a bit of shading to it but that big wide dress was still proving hard to give good definition to. Finally I had to call it good enough and move on. Other than the dress giving me fits I am very happy with how her hair turned out at least. ;)

Well folks, I'm going to go see what I want to tackle first today... maybe, just maybe, I might get around to doing a video or two.

Sugar & Spice...

Hello again!

It's another review preview on the All That Scraps blog today and the newest Sweet November stamps are in the spotlight. I had a hard time choosing which stamp to feature but finally went with this little fairy baby in the walnut. Last time I inked up this image I used it to make a baby boy card so it was fun taking it the other direction and going all out pink and girly. The papers are more scraps that were on my table and I like the soft and natural background that they create for this little one's garden nursery.

For even more sweet baby inspiration be sure to check out all of the adorable cards that my fellow ATS teamies have created. :)

Smile...

Hello there!

Sorry about the absence but I had a whirlwind of a weekend. Lots of work and lots of play so instead of stressing about getting cards done and posting I just let it be for a couple days. :)

I actually started this card last week with the intention of entering it into the TGF yellow and blue DTT challenge but I didn't quite get it done in time. So I grabbed a couple Martha Stewart butterfly punches and decided to enter it into the Farm Fresh Friday punch challenge instead. ;)
The new Lovely Bean is the star of this show and I wanted it to look like she is fluttering right a long with her butterfly pals. I think the fun cloud paper really helps with that so I was lucky to find this last little piece of it in my scrap bag. Yep, I went to town with the random mix of scraps again and it felt good to fully use up a couple more pieces. What can I say... I'm determined to whittle down the piles of paper so that I don't have to put myself on a "no new paper diet". Gasp! Shock! The horror!  I know, I know... it's blasphemous to even think about such a thing, especially with all of the new pretties previewed at CHA recently. I just have to find a bit more time to really get in the organizing/purging mode, which will hopefully happen in a week or two.

Okey dokey, I'm going to wrap this up. It's been good talkin' at'cha all again and I'll see ya in 24!

Lots & lots of love...

TGIF everybody!

This post is going to be even quicker than yesterday's... it's just been crazy busy. At work we are getting ready for the Fire & Ice festival in town this weekend so by the time I got home last night I was too tired to get crazy in the crafty room. Thus all I have to share is a non-coloring Valentine. It's a bit non traditional with the greys and blues thrown in but I think that it why I like it so much. :)

Alrighty, off to get ready for another whirlwind of a day... though I guarantee there is no polar bear jump in the lake in my future! ;)

To the moon and back...

Hi guys!

I've got another busy day of work ahead of me today so I'm gonna have to post and run this morning.
This was the second card that I made for yesterday's review preview over at ATS. Baby Willow is the star of the show on this one and doesn't she look like a drowsy looking little cutie? I can't decide if she has just woken up from a nap or is ready for bedtime... either way I just want to snuggle her, LOL!
Most of the papers and what not are left overs from the Ivy card and it was a great way to get the rest of the stuff off my desk.

Ok, I've really got to get a move on. TTYL!

My nightlight...

Olo!

It's time for a review preview over at All That Scraps and this week it's all about the Li'l Lolita Babies. My card features Baby Ivy with her wide eyes, paci and bun bun. What a sweetie she is. Something about Ivy's footie pajamas had me picturing her getting ready for bedtime and I knew that I had the perfect sentiment to compliment that theme.
As for the papers, I grabbed an older MME paper pack called Alphabet Soup and had a blast cutting up bits and pieces of the prints to create most of the accents on the card. I'm sure that I've said it before but push come to shove if I was only allowed to buy one kind of crafty item to go with my stamps, you can take my stickers, die cuts and embellishments but don't take my pretty papers! ;)

Alrighty then, be sure to take a moment and check out what my fellow ATS teamies have created for the review preview today. It's sure to be a 10 on the cute-o-meter! :)

Toodles!

Thank you so much

Hello again!

I know, I know... two Greeting Farm cards in a row, craziness! But with the new stamps sitting on my desk Awareness Anya here proved irresistible. Plus I wanted to get a card made for the Farm Fresh Friday challenge as well. This week the challenge is to make a 'thank you' card which I find are always good to have on hand. And yes, I altered Anya a bit. At first I was going to do a head swap with another Anya but quickly realized I wanted to try and keep her cute dress intact. So I wiped away the awareness ribbon before stamping and then drew in her missing dress bodice and skirt with a handy dandy Copic multiliner. By doing that I got a more generic and very versatile little Anya for my card.

I didn't start with any particular papers in mind so I grabbed a bag of scraps without looking and challenged myself to find something in it to use. Luckily I came across these old October Afternoon papers that inspired me to give Anya a blue dress. I don't work with blues a whole lot but I'm lovin' how this all came together. Plus it was a nice contrast to the red hair that I had already given her. ;)

Ok, time for me to scoot my boot.

Brightens my day...

Hello, hello!

It was another excellent episode of Downton Abbey last night... I'm so addicted to this show! It is a total escape and part of me would love to dress up in those amazing clothes. Any other Abbey addicts feel that way too?

So, I made my card today for the Double Take Tuesday challenge over at the TGF blog. It's a sketch this week and I was very excited to have the new Wild Sprout Gracie to play with for it. I don't think it's a secret that the Wild Sprouts are one of my most fave Greeting Farm cuties and I was thrilled to see a new one added to the family with this latest release... it's just been too long!
Now you may notice that I have done a bit of altering to Gracie but that's only because I saw her as a short haired kind of girl. So I simply wiped away her braids and drew in the short wisps in the back. I think it makes her look a bit sassy. :)

Ok, I suppose I should go get myself ready for this brand new week. TTYL!

Birthday Girl...

Howdy stampin' peeps!

Well we beat the low temp from the other night and 'enjoyed' a whopping 5 degrees last night. I have to say that it is hard to drag myself out of a warm and cozy bed on freezing cold mornings like this. I might just have to hop back under the covers after this and snuggle with Oreo a bit longer. :)

Today I have a card that I made for this month's SOG sketch challenge. And because they are celebrating their 3rd birthday this week I was inspired to make this a birthday card as well. I did a slight bit of altering by cutting the tulip out of Gwen in Bloom's hand and replacing it with the present accent stamp that comes with the Deer Mae stamp set. It was an easy way to make her work within the birthday theme that I was going for.
The papers aren't really from a traditional birthday paper collection instead they are part of the Simple Stories Snap line that is made more for PL scrapbooking. Still, I love the mix of colors and since a birthday has to fall somewhere on the calendar I thought that it made for a cool background. ;)

Alrighty, relax and enjoy your Sunday... maybe even get a bit crafty too!

Happy day...

Welcome to the weekend my friends!

It got down to single digits here last night so I'm still California dreamin'. ;)
Sad to say, I don't think that there are going to be any new Copic colors added to the family this year. The only news I've been able to find is about their new adhesives. I'm kinda bummed but at least it will save me some money in the long run I guess, LOL!

So today's card features a Fairy Glen image from Sugar Nellie called Let them Eat Cake. I adore these sweet fairies and was happy to get another one inked up. Because she has that delicious cake it seemed like a no-brainer to make this into a birthday card. I hit the scrap bags for papers and was thrilled to find these prints that both gave me a fun color palette to work from and created that perfect party atmosphere for this little sweetie. I just wish that using three pieces of paper made more of a dent in the ol' paper stash. I'm thinking that the problem is that because of all that was going on though out the summer and early fall, I didn't get the chance to do my annual 1000 sheets giveaway. That has been such a great way to clear things out in the past that I'm thinking I may have to get on it sooner rather than later. I promise to keep you all posted on when I get things all worked out for that. ;)

Ok, off to work I go. Toodles!

Thinking...

Mornin' folks!

Any big plans for the upcoming weekend? Besides work, I'll just be staying in and trying to keep warm while I dream of all the crafty fun going on at CHA down in sunny CA. Talk about being jealous! I can't wait to hear about the show from all the lucky gals who are attending this year.

Anywho, my card today features a digital stamp from A Day for Daisies called Braid in my Hair. I spotted this pretty lady back in December when I got a couple of Christmas digis but didn't get her right away. Something kept drawing me back to her though, I'm thinking it's that fab head of hair. I gotta say that it was so much fun to color. Personally, I'm a short hair girl all the way but there is something about a long, tousled braid that transports me right into a fairytale. So in my mind she is a princess surrounded by her little birdie friends. The papers are called Songbird and they had the romantic, vintage feel that I was looking for... kinda shabby chic just like the princess. ;)

Okey dokey, I'm going to scoot now. Lots to do, lots to do... see ya in 24!

The snow may fall...

Olo!

I guess there was no escaping the snow showing up to influence a card or two of mine these days. As if I can't get my fill of the white stuff just by walking out the door, I started searching it out in my paper stash as well. Actually, I didn't have to search too hard as this card completely came together around that snowflake swirl die cut. It's been sitting on my desk for way too long and I finally had to put it to use. My coloring time was limited so I found this Warm Wishes Pure Innocence to go with it... bonus points for crossing another stamp off the un-inked list. ;)
The papers I settled on were unexpected at first. I was originally looking for a Basic Grey paper pad with similar aqua hues, but when that proved elusive I grabbed this Timeless pad with its brown, cream and black combo. In the end I think it created a nice contrast for the aqua to really stand out against.

And with that it is time for me to get ready to brave the outdoors once again, I won't look as fashionable as this Pure Innocence but I'll be bundled up, that's for sure!
Later gators!

My heart is happy...

Hello again!

Man oh man did we have a snow storm blow through here yesterday. It started around 9am and didn't let up all day. Needless to say, I had the fun of shoveling paths in the afternoon. I'm already anxious for February to hurry up and get here so that I can realistically look forward to a warm up and melt off. But it's still January and for now this is all par for the course unfortunately.

Today I wanted to play along with the Farm Fresh Challenge over on the TGF blog to use something new. I'm not usually a big fan of Glitz papers but I recently got the Cashmere Dame paper pad because the colors were too pretty to resist. So that is my 'something new' for the challenge... though technically, even though I've had her for awhile, I've never inked up this particular Miss Anya Garland beauty so she's kinda new too. ;)

Ok, ok... I had better get a move on considering I'll probably have to dig the car out before I can head to work this morning. Whine and moan, whine and moan, LOL!
Stay classy San Diego!

Colorful Ketto...

Olo!

I've got a crazy day ahead of me so this post is gonna be a quick one. :)

I'm on a roll with continuing to ink up stamps that haven't gotten much lovin'. This one is Charlotte Ketto from Stamping Bella and while a lot of my Kettos have made it onto cards this was Charlotte's first time. The funky mix of prints on her dress inspired my choice of paper because it had its own upbeat mix of prints and colors going on. The embellishing really is just a random mix of odds and ends that had collected on my desk and I wanted to challenge myself to use that giant flower in a cool way. Using it to mat Charlotte and ground the rest of the embellishments seems to do the trick. ;)

Oh and one more thing before I sign off... the CHA show is coming up this weekend and I've been enjoying many different sneak peeks from various companies but I have yet to find any news about possible new Copic colors being added this year. So if any of you fellow avid colorists out there have heard or seen anything please share! I'm really hoping to see a couple color families fleshed out a bit so I'm keeping my fingers crossed, LOL!

My heart is yours...

Eee! Season 3 of Downton is off to such a great start! I honestly didn't want the hour to end. What with the wedding, the continuing murder mystery, health scares, money troubles and crazy American relatives... it doesn't get much better than that.  ;)

It's been quite a while since I've inked up any Kraftin' Kimmie stamps so today's card seemed like a good chance to rectify that situation. I've been waiting for the perfect excuse to use Aphrodite on a Valentine's card as it seems a holiday particularly suited to her. And while the Basic Grey papers are a Valentine's line I really liked the nontraditional shots of yellow added to the pink and brown combo as it helps to make this goddess of love pop off the card. I even broke out the heat gun and embossing powder to add a golden frame around the edge... techniques like that always make me feel particularly crafty.

Alrighty then, time to start off this brand new week. Have a good one my friends!

Have a little Faythe...

Hey there!

It's Sunday and do you know what I'm excited for? Tonight the third season of Downton Abbey starts up here in the U.S.! I have recently fallen head over heels in love with this show and I can't wait to dive back into all the drama. Come 9pm nothing is moving me off my couch, LOL!

So for my card today I chose a Tiddly Inks digi to print out and color up. This adorable little lady is Faythe and she is one of the newer characters that Christy has created. Isn't she just the total charmer? I couldn't wait to pair her up with the Nostalgia paper pad because there was something about her look that I thought would go really great with the vintage colors and patterns of these papers. And have I mentioned that I love coloring curly hair... it's so much fun! :)

Alrighty, I've got the day off today but that doesn't mean there isn't plenty to keep me busy... until 9pm that is. ;)
