Gettin' sketchy at SOG

Happy Thursday everybody!

Can you believe it's time for a new challenge over at Some Odd Girl already? There is a great sketch to follow this time around that you can dress up or dress down to create a card that is as CAS or as embellished as you like... it really lends itself to multiple styles very easily. :)

For my take on the sketch, I chose to use the adorable new Penguin Love Tia. And because she is a digital image I was able to flip her to face the opposite direction before printing her out. This way I could place her on the card where the sketch dictated but also still have her eye line leading directly back at the sentiment... which is always a good thing. What can I say... I'm a bit OCD about stuff like that! LOL
And can you believe I skipped using any Christmas papers on this card? Instead I opted to raid one of my paper scrap bags and came up with this funky combo of prints and colors. The kinda monochromatic look was needing a pop of contrast so I colored her hair a nice auburn red and added a burgundy ribbon to the card as well. And I've gotta say that once the red was on there I really became quite pleased with this combo for a winter/Christmas card. I think it looks a bit modern and different.

Okey dokey, so now it's time for you to get inspired and show us your take on the sketch! You've got until October 18th to enter a card for a chance at winning a fab prize and while you don't have to use a SOG image to qualify, you do get an extra name in the hat come drawing time if you do. :)

Oh! Also be sure to check out all the fun to be had this month on Kristy's blog with 30 Days of How To's, Tuts and Giveaways to celebrate her 30th Birthday coming up! You don't want to miss the fun so help spread the word by hopping to her personal blog and grabbing the sidebar badge. You'll be happy you did! There's something going on everyday from now thru the end of October with 19 talented Birthday Guests helping to bring all these posts and fun to life! We start NOW!
